About the Event
Led by Brittany Pires, this workshop series is composed of four 90-minute sessions that can be taken together for a comprehensive course on how yoga can support the prenatal journey or as individual classes depending on the student's interest. Expecting mamas of every stage and yoga experience are welcome!
Entire Intensive (All 4 Sessions): $140
Individual Sessions: $40/ each
*Teachers who attend can receive YACEP certificate for continuing education upon request.
Yoga for Common Pregnancy Discomforts
Sat: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Say goodbye to a sore back, tight hips and swollen ankles and hello to some sweet relief. This session is all about postures, props and breathing techniques that can help alleviate many of the common discomforts experienced during the different stages of pregnancy.
Prenatal Partner Yoga
Sat: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
This partner workshop is open to expecting mamas and their partners (partner can mean anyone: spouse, partner, doula, friend, or anyone who will be providing birth support during childbirth) and to all levels of yoga experience. Partner Prenatal Yoga will offer the opportunity to explore the physical practice of yoga through warm-up poses and partner yoga poses. The session will also include breath work and physical adjustments as an opportunity to find connection and support.
Prenatal Yoga for Labor and Delivery
Sun: 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Yoga can help prepare your body and mind for the journey of labor and delivery. This session will focus on the pelvic floor including techniques for engagement, target muscle strengthening and lengthening, as well as breath work to help you stay focused and calm throughout your experience.
Prenatal Restorative Yoga for Relaxation
Sune: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm
This session will focus on finding supportive, comfortable ways to use props to help the body gently release held tension and stress. We will also cover postpartum yoga, and postures that can help ease you back onto the mat after birth.
With a passion for helping women through their pregnancies, Brittany Pires, 200 E-RYT, offers an empowering and personalized approach to Prenatal yoga. As every body has a different yoga recipe, her style is a blend of teachings that focus on the individual's experience and body awareness, allowing students to tune into sensations of the body rather than the chatter of the mind. While she will offer a general guideline to practicing or teaching prenatal yoga, every woman and every pregnancy is different, and she stresses the importance of using a yoga practice to serve the body and what it needs. Brittany will offer systematic ideas and approaches to empower women in their practice, specifically throughout pregnancy, and for teachers to be well-prepared to offer modifications for pregnant women in their classes.
